A perfect friendship! May 2003 to July 2004.Gillian returns from France. The four girls, Mary, Gillian, Pog and Siân meet for a meal. Later that evening, Siân is attacked in her flat. In the hospital, next day Mary meets Dr Williams. Later they date. Mary goes sailing, twice, Siân improves after her ordeal and Mary starts to fall for Martyn.Les Girls have dinner in Pog’s flat, using the evening to plan a visit to Budapest.Gillian gets help with her first book, from Ginge, destined to become the person in her life. Mary misses Martyn when he is working at the Duchess of Cambridge Hospital. When he is offered a job in Swansea he turns it down, because of his feelings for Mary. Martyn and Mary find themselves falling in love. Martyn, Delyth and Mary sail up Channel in Martyn's ketch, Merry Weather. Les Girls are also introduced to sailing.Martyn, Delyth and Mary sail to Ilfracombe, Tenby and Swansea.Siân’s Crown Court case against her attackers results in a victory for justice.Gillian and Ginge go to a Buddhist meeting. Mary meets Martyn’s Dad. They also have dinner at Martyn’s.Les Girls have a night in and some days after, Martyn proposes to Mary. She plans for the wedding, and makes the cake.Pog rides her first randonnée ride. Les Girls meet for dinner. Gillian shares her Buddhist practice, Nam Myoho Renge Kyo with them.Mary’s attention to her wedding becomes a full time activity. Les Girls and their partners go on the paddle steamer Waverly.Les Girls visit Budapest, enjoy the Opera, Monument park, the Children’s Railway and indulge themselves in the Gellert Baths.Martyn and Mary’s Honeymoon plans are set. They enjoy a perfect wedding day, as does everyone.
